台風 - taifuu is the Japanese word for typhoon. The kanji means support and wind, but the word origin comes from the Chinese 大風, as is "Great Wind". It's like a tropical storm, but to me, it doesn't seem that severe. But I can tell you that currently the wind is whipping and howling through the gaps in the doors, and it's blowing waves of water across the parking lot. Which is why they wanted us home stay kids to spend the night at school. Luckily the phone call reached our house right before we left, and Okaasan had us pack a change of clothes. So here we are, at school. We totally could have gotten home. But they are over protective. Ah wells. Pictures tomorrow, I hope.
